HISTORY

The Etran Harborage, known as Shield World 0459 to the Forerunners, was one of many shield worlds built by the Forerunners in the years prior to the Forerunner-Flood War. For reasons not currently understood, the outer surface of the Etran Harborage was infested with Flood, although the interior surface was kept mostly Flood-free. The Etran Harborage is known for containing a large number of Forerunner Sojourner-class dreadnoughts, which Covenant forces attempted to take control of during the Battle for the Etran Harborage in 2531. Facing the threat of the Covenant gaining access to warships far more powerful than even the current Covenant ships, the crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire sacrificed its slipspace drive to cause a supernova in the artificial star at the worlds center, destroying the entire Etran Harborage.
