This faction emerged in the aftermath of the New Phoenix Incident and the presumed demise of Cortana, the AI affiliated with the UNSC, in 2557. Following Cortana's self-sacrifice to save the Spartan-II known as John-117, she vanished into the slipspace wake generated by the Forerunner ship Mantles Approach, ultimately finding herself on the enigmatic Forerunner world known as Genesis.
Within the depths of Genesis, Cortana made a groundbreaking discovery—the Forerunner Domain, an expansive network encompassing the entire breadth of Forerunner knowledge and wisdom.
