The First Battle of Harvest was humanity's first contact with the Covenant on the planet Harvest in the Epsilon Indi system and the subsequent destruction of the entire colony.  The colony was attacked and evacuated after the cruiser Rapid Conversion, led by Jiralhanae Chieftain Maccabeus and later Tartarus, brutally attacked the population centers. Around 23,000 civilians were killed during the attack and evacuation.
